The doors opened at River Bend Vineyard & Winery back in 2009...
but what happened before then?
Meet the Owners
Donna is the analytical side of the husband and wife duo. This makes her invaluable for understanding the chemical processes that wine undertakes while being made. You'll usually find her in the lab, checking her numbers for the second or third time to make sure that every wine is perfect for the customer.
Al is the mechanical side of the ownership team. He is the master of all cellar equipment, from the tanks and pumps to the barrels and bottling line. Al also manages the vineyard and maintains the farm machinery. His cabinet making background is also apparent throughout the winery and tasting room.
Testing the Waters
With a growing passion for making wine at home, Al & Donna decided to place their wine into amateur wine-making competitions. The results were very good, and they realized they could go the distance with their abilities.
The decision was made to open River Bend Vineyard & Winery in 2009. The founding philosophy of making high quality wines featuring local grapes has proved to be a successful strategy, and things have only grown since that opening day.
How are things going now?
